Just a reminder that this is a thing that will happen.
This Brooklyn Vegan post has all the gory details, as well as a picture of the devastatingly cool and handsome Caleb Scofield.
If I know you, or even if I don’t, I would love for you to come out and party with us.

Release day is finally here.
You can stream or download the record on our bandcamp page. There you’ll also find links to purchase the album (do they still call them albums?) in various formats: vinyl, CD, open-reel tape, and wax cylinder.
If you’re an iTunes type of person, you can find Container Ships here. Amazon? Here.
It’s also on Spotify, apparently. Check it out here.
Thank you all for your kind words and support. It means more than you know.

LAST WEEK’S WORK
My interview with Matthew Lillard about his directorial debut, “Fat Kid Rules the World,” acting with the Misfits, and being an old-school Apple evangelist.
My three-part series on going beyond the velvet rope for the American League Division Series games in Oakland. Part 1 is free to all. Part 2 and part 3 are for Baseball Prospectus subscribers only. Part 3 is my favorite, though. Here are some behind-the-scenes pictures I took.
Brooklyn Vegan announced the release of the forthcoming Kowloon Walled City record, has preorder info, and is streaming a track. More info at Brutal Panda Records.
I do a weekly baseball and music podcast with my Productive Outs partner, Riley Breckenridge. You can listen to the last episode here. Pretty excited about the guest we have lined up for this week’s ep, so now’s a perfect time to RSS or iTunes it.
Hi.
Yesterday Kowloon Walled City announced the imminent release of our next record, CONTAINER SHIPS. It’ll be out December 4 on Brutal Panda Records. We’re also streaming the first song off the record, ”The Pressure Keeps Me Alive.”
I’m really fucking proud of this record; it might be the best thing I’ve ever played on. I hope you enjoy it too.
Here’s the gag reel from Kowloon Walled City’s Guitar World Private Gear Tour. It’s fucking hysterical. Watch it.
Leah wrote some nice things about KWC. Thanks, Leah!

I wrote this little number for Decibel — you’ll see an abbreviated version in this month’s edition.
TOTALFEST X
When: August 18-20
Where: Badlander/Palace, Missoula, MT
It’s barely 10 pm, and outside a very drunk midget is in the process of unzipping his pants. And around him,…
TOURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR MADNESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Snailface: The Almasty (Kelermes Mirror)
My baseball people might be interested in listening to this. It’s the latest (#28) “Up and In” podcast from Baseball Prospectus. I’m not a big podcast guy, but I make it a point to listen to every episode of “Up and In.” These guys are incredibly knowledgable about baseball, and especially minor-league ball and high-school and college ballplayers. Also, Goldstein is an old Chicago punker and knows his music. (Bear Claw was the featured musical guest on the last podcast. Rad, right?) They also love to talk food and booze. Highly recommended.
Also, they field a question from me in this one. If you only want to hear that, you can ffwd to 29:00 and hear them make fun of me. Goldstein also mentions Kowloon Walled City, and threatens to play Snailface on a future episode.
Listen!
